Marlies Göhr was born on 21st March 1958, in Gera, Thuringia. She is a former track and field athlete from East Germany.

Her Achievements:-

Bagged gold medals in 4x100 m relay at the 1976 and 1980 Summer Olympic Games
Secured silver medals at the 1980 and 1988 Olympic Games
Earned two gold medals at the 1983 World Championship in 100m and 4x100 m relay, held in Helsinki
Bagged a silver medal at the 1987 World Championship, in Rome
