Luciana Aymar

Born on 10th August 1977, in Rosario, Luciana Paula Aymar is a retired field hockey player who has credited numerous medals for Argentina at various international sports stages with the national team and is prominent as "La Maga" and "The Maradona of Field Hockey". She is considered as one of the best female field hockey players of all time.

Her major achievements:

• Bagged silver medal at the Summer Olympics of 2000 (Sydney) and 2012 (London) and bronze medal at the Summer Olympics of 2004 (Athens) and 2008 (Beijing)
• Won the Women's Hockey World Cup of 2002 and 2010, held in Perth and Rosario, respectively and bronze medal in 2006 and 2014 that convened in Madrid and The Hague, respectively
• Was part of the winning team of the Hockey Champions Trophy, held in 2001, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014. She was chosen as the Player of the Tournament in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
• Earned three gold medals at the Pan American Games, held in 1999, 2003 and 2007, and a silver medal in 2011
• She was also chosen as the flag bearer for Argentina at the 2012 Summer Olympics
