Irfan Kolothum Thodi

KT Irfan, the talented Indian racewalker, was born on June 8, 1990, in Kerala. Known for his disciplined walking style, Irfan has achieved notable success on the international stage. In 2020, he made history by becoming the first Indian athlete to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics in the 20km race walk category. • Clinched the gold medal at the Open National Athletic Championship and silver medal at the Inter-State Senior National Athletic Championship in 2011
• Won the gold medal at the 2012 Patiala Federation Cup with the timing of 1:22:14 and earned 15^th spot in the Saransk IAAF World Race Walking Cup held in Russia
• Set a new national record of 1:20:21 at the 2012 London Olympics in the 20km race walk event and ranked 10^th
• Finished 5^th in the 20km event at the Taicang IAAF Race Walking Challenge of 2013 with the timing of 01:20:59
• Won the Indian Race Walking Championship consecutively three years (2017, 2018 and 2019)
