Katalin Kovács

Born on 29 February 1976, Katalin Kovács is a sprint canoer from Hungary. She is honored with the “Hungarian Kayaker of the Year” title ten –times in the years 1999-2003 and 2005-2009.

Here are some of her career achievements:

• Bagged eight medals at the Summer Olympics including three golds at 2004, 2008 and 2012 and five silvers in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 games in different events
• Won a record 40 medals including 30 golds, 7 silvers and 3 bronze medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
• Secured 29 gold medals, a silver and a bronze medal at the European Rowing Championship
• Honored with the Order of Merit of Hungary-Commander’s Cross with Star in 2012 with many other honors
