Jimmy Connors

Born on 2nd September 1952, Jimmy Connors is a former World No.1 tennis player from America. He is the first male player in the history of the sport who sustained his No.1 rank for more than 260 weeks.

He has bagged ample of achievements under his belt, here are some of them:-

• Jimmy Connors holds the record of winning 109 titles in Open Era singles.
• Connors is the first male tennis player to win five US Open titles in between 1974-1983.
• In 1982, he conquered the ITF World Championship and also received the ATP Player of the Year award.
• Connors is still the second (Roger Federer being the first with 307 matches) to play the most number of Gram Slam events (233).
• Connors name was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1998 for his outstanding performance in the sport.
