Grete Waitz

Grete Waitz was born on 1st October 1953. She was a marathon runner from Norway.

Her Achievements:-

• Bagged bronze medals at the 1974 and 1978 European Championships, held in Rome and Prague, respectively.
• Bagged a gold medal at the 1977 IAAF World Cup, held in Düsseldorf and a silver medal at the 1979 IAAF World Cup, held in Montreal.
• Bagged gold medals at the 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981 and 1983 World Cross Country Championships, held in Glasgow, Limerick, Paris, Madrid and Gateshead, respectively.
• Captured a gold medal at the 1983 World Championships, held in Helsinki
• Roped in a silver medal at the 1984 Olympic Games, held in Los Angeles.
