Geoffrey Lewis Capes

Geoffrey Lewis Capes is a former British Shot putter born on 23^rd August 1949 in England. As a sportsperson, he represented both England and Great Britain in the sphere of athletics with high specialization in shot put events.

Some of his achievements are listed below:-

• Bestowed with the title of "World’s Strongest Man" twice.
• Was twice the "World Muscle Power Champion" along with it, he had won various other titles such as "Europe’s Strongest Man" and "Britain’s Strongest Man".
• Winner of a bronze medal at the 1974 European Athletics Championships held in Rome.
• He had won several medals at the European Indoor Championships took place from 1974 to 1979.
• After representing his nation 11 times at the Commonwealth games, he finally clinched the gold medal in the year 1974 and 1978 held in Christchurch and Edmonton, respectively.
