Federica Pellegrini

Federica Pellegrini is an Italian swimmer born on August 5, 1988. The lady holds the women’s 200m freestyle world records both in long and short course and is also the 2008 Beijing Olympics gold medalist.

Her achievements:-

• Became the first woman ever to breach the 4-minute barrier in 400m freestyle clocking 3:59:15 at the 2009 World Championships.
• Clinched gold in 200m freestyle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
• Secured silver in 200m freestyle event at the 2009 Athens Olympics.
• Winner of 4 gold, 4 silver and bronze at the World Championship (LC) held in between 2007-2015.
• Has won 7 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals at the European Championships (LC) held in between 2008-2016.
• Secured a total of 7 gold, 2 silver and  5 bronze medals at the European Championships (SC) held between 2005-2015.
• Grabbed 2 gold medals at the Universiade held in Bangkok in 2007, and also secured 2 gold at the 2009 Pescara Mediterranean Games.
