Chirag Chandrashekhar Shetty

Born in Mumbai on 4^th July 1997, Chirag Chandrashekhar Shetty is an Indian badminton player. He came into the limelight after his commendable performance with Satwiksairaj Rankireddy at the 2019 French Open (Super 750). The duo scripted history by becoming the first-ever Indian doubles pair to win a BWF Tour 500 event by clinching the title of 2019 Thailand Open.

A glimpse of some of his career achievements:

• Won a bronze medal in the men’s team event  at the 2016 Badminton Asia Championship, held in Hyderabad.
• Earned gold medals at the India International Series, Mauritius International, Bangladesh International  & Tata Open India International with his partner Satwiksairaj Rankireddy in 2016.
• Winner of the 2017 Vietnam International in the men’s doubles event.
• Won a gold & a silver medal in the mixed team and men’s doubles events, respectively at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
• Winner of the Hyderabad Open (Super 100) with his partner Satwiksairaj Rankireddy in 2018.
• Bagged the title of 2019 Thailand Open (Super 500) in the men’s doubles event.
• Emerged victorious at the 2019 Brazil International in the men’s doubles event.
• Clinched a bronze medal at the 2020 Badminton Asia Championship in the men’s team event.
