Hailing from Maia, Portugal, Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes is a professional footballer who plays for Portugal national team and Manchester United FC. Bruno is an attacking midfielder who has an outstanding goal scoring record from that position. He is a right-footed playmaker and is an on-point free-kick taker.
Bruno made his senior career debut for the Italian club Novara in 2012, then moved to Udinese in 2013 and then to Sampdoria in 2016. This way, he spent the first five years of his career in Italy. In 2017, he was signed by the Portuguese club Sporting CP and named the captain of the team. In January 2020, Manchester United signed him for an initial fee of €55 million, plus up to €25 million add-ons.
Bruno made his senior international debut for Portugal in 2017, having previously played at the under-19, under-20, under-21 and under-23 levels. He represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 UEFA Nations League Finals.
