Anil Kumble

Anil Radhakrishna Kumble, from Bengaluru, India, was born on 17th October 1970. He is a former Indian cricketer who has captained the Indian cricket team in several major events. He also serves as the head coach of the Indian cricket team.

Anil Kumble's Achievements:-

• Entitled as the Indian Cricket Cricketer of the Year in 1993
• Conferred with the "Arjuna Award" in 1995 by the Government of India
• Chosen as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1996
• Won the "Man of the Series" award in the One Day International Sahara Friendship Cup which was played against Pakistan in 1996 at Toronto
• In a match against Pakistan, held at Delhi in the year 1999, Kumble took ten wickets in a test innings making him the second bowler ever in the history of cricket to achieve that feat.
• One of the 16 cricketers shortlisted for the Wisden Cricketers of the 20th century in 2002
• Bestowed with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India in the year 2005
• Became the fourth Indian cricketer to be inducted into ICC Hall of Fame in the year 2015.
