Amanda Beard

Amanda Beard also known by her married name Amanda Brown is an American swimmer, born on 29th October 1981. The lady has added numerous feathers in her cap by being a seven-time Olympic medalist and is also a former world record holder in 200 meter backstroke (long course).

Here is a quick glimpse of her accomplishments:-

• Her clover has made her win the "American Swimmer of the Year" title twice.
• Won two gold medals each in 4x100 medley and 200m breaststroke at the 1996 and 2004 Olympics, respectively; both the events were held in Athens.
• Roped in two silver medals each for 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke events at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics
• Winner of two silver medals each for 200m medley and 4X100m medley at the 2004 Athens Olympics
• Earned bronze in 200m breaststroke event at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
• Won gold and two silver medals at the 2003 World Championships (LC), held in Barcelona
• Clinched two silver medals at the 2004 World Championships (SC), held in Indianapolis
