Abhijeet Gupta

Born on 16^th October 1989 in Bhilwara, Abhijeet Gupta is an Indian chess player. He is the third Indian winner of the World Junior Chess Championship, conducted in the year 2008 next to Viswanathan Anand and Pentala Harikrishna.

His Achievements:-

• Qualified the norms necessary to get the title of Grand Master, by winning at the 2006 Andorra Open and the 2007 Parsvanath Open, held in New Delhi.
• Bagged the 2008 World Junior Chess Championship title on 15th August and became the third Indian to win this prestigious championship.
• Secured the first position at the 2011 Dubai Open Chess Championship.
• Also secured the first place at the 2011 Indian National Premier Chess Championship, held in India.
• Silver medal at the Chess Olympiad of 2012, held in Turkey.
• Received the “Arjuna Award" in 2013.
• Claimed the 2013 Commonwealth Chess Championship and the Al Ain Chess Classic tournament.
• Won the Commonwealth Chess Championship for three consecutive years 2015, 2016 & 2017.
• In 2019, Abhijeet bagged his career's fifth title of Commonwealth Chess Championship.
