Abebe Bikila

Abebe Bikila was born on 7^th August 1932. He was a professional athlete and runner from Ethiopia.

His Achievements:-

• Bagged a gold medal in the Marathon event at the 1960 Summer Olympic Games, held in Rome.
• Captured the gold medal clocking 2:23:44.6 seconds at the 1961 Athens International Marathon, held in Athens, Greece.
• Won a gold medal at the 1961 Mainichi Marathon, held in Osaka, Japan.
• Earned a gold medal in the Marathon category at the 1964 Summer Olympic Games, held in Tokyo.
• Roped in a gold medal at the 1966 Inchon-Seoul Marathon which was held in Seoul, South Korea.
• Clinched a gold medal at the 1966 Zarautz International Marathon, held in Zarautz, Spain.
