Wilma Rudolph

Wilma Glodean Rudolph was born on 23^rd June, 1940. She was a track and field sprinter from America who predominantly competed in 100 m and 200 m dashes.

Her Achievements:-

• Bagged a bronze medal in 4 x 100 m relay at the 1956 Olympic Games, held in Melbourne, Australia.
• Earned three gold medals at the 1960 Olympic Games, held in Rome in 100m, 200m, and 4 x 100m relay.
• Entitled as the "United Press Athlete of the Year" in 1960.
• Became the Associated Press Woman Athlete of the Year in 1960 and 1961.
• Awarded the "James E. Sullivan Award" in 1961.
• Inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame in 1983.
