Heidemarie Ecker-Rosendahl

Born on 14th February 1947, in Hückeswagen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, Heidemarie Ecker-Rosendahl is a German former athlete who predominantly competed in Long Jump and Pentathlon events and has earned numerous accolades.

• Won a silver medal in Pentathlon at the European Championship of 1966 that took place in Budapest
• Clinched gold and a bronze medal in Pentathlon and Long Jump at the European Championship of 1971 that took place in Helsinki
• Bagged two gold and one silver medal in long Jump, 4x100m relay and Pentathlon, respectively at the 1972 Munich Olympics
• Has also set a world record in the long jump of 6.84m in 1972, which lasted for six years
• Twice entitled as the Germany Sportswoman of the Year in 1970 and 1972
