Billie Jean King

Billie Jean King was born 22nd November 1943. She is a former professional tennis player from America who was ranked the World No.1 tennis player in 1966.

Her Achievements:-

• Won the Wimbledon Championships in 1966, 1967, 1968, 1972, 1973 and 1975
• Received the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year award in 1967
• Dominated the U.S. Open four times: in 1967, 1971, 1972 and 1974 held in the United States
• Won the Australian Open in 1968
• Dominated the French Open in 1972
• Became the first woman to win the Sportsman of the Year award in 1972 which was awarded by Sports Illustrated magazine.
• Inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in the year 1987.
