Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is one of the agilest captains and greatest batsmen of the Indian cricket team. He was born on 24th April 1973 in Mumbai. He is the only player who scored hundred centuries in international events. Sachin has multitudinous achievements under his belt among which a few are listed here:
Sachin is the only player who has scored more than 30,000 runs in all formats of cricket.
Sachin was honored as the “Man of the Match” 13 times and 62 times for giving prolific performances in Test matches and One Day International matches respectively.
Sachin received the Arjuna Award in 1994 by the Government of India for his sincere efforts in cricket.
In 1997, Sachin received India’s highest sporting award “Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award”.The same year, he was selected as the “Wisden Cricketer of the Year”.
He is the first Indian cricketer who has scored more than 11,000 runs in Test Cricket.
In the World Cup of 2003, he was selected as the “Player of the Tournament”.
In 2012, Sachin became the Honorary Member of the Order of Australia.
He received India’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna in 2014.
Born on April 24, 1988, in Odisha,Katulu Ravi Kumar is a stalwart Indian weightlifter who serves in Indian Army. He has earned numerous accolades by giving prolific performances in various state, national and international level competitions.
His significant achievements-
2007- Ravi won a silver medal in Asian Junior Men’s Weightlifting Championship held in Jordan.
2009- He bagged three Gold medals at the Commonwealth Games held in Malaysia.
2010- Ravi again won three Gold medals at the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi.
2011- Ravi secured three Bronze medals at the Senior Weightlifting Championship held in China.
2012- At the London Olympics, Ravi achieved the 6th position in men's 69 kg category.
