Sunil Gavaskar

Born on 10^th July 1949, in Maharashtra, India, Sunil Manohar "Sunny" Gavaskar is a former Indian cricketer widely known as one of the greatest opening batsmen in the history of cricket. The dynamic right-handed batsman set a world record of 34 Test centuries that he sustained till it was surpassed by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

His Achievements:-

• Honored with the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award for Cricket in India in 2012.
• The first Test batsman to score 10,000 Test Runs in his cricket career.
• Padma Shri by the Government of India.
• Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.
