Srikanth Kidambi

 Born on 7th February 1993, Srikanth Kidambi, the badminton star from Andhra Pradesh, India, began his love for the sport in Guntur. With quick moves and powerful shots, he rose to fame, winning titles like the Indonesian and Australian Opens. Srikanth's talent led him to become the world No. 1 in men's singles. Beyond the court, his calm attitude makes him stand out. Here are some of his career achievements:-

• Bagged a silver and a bronze medal in the mixed doubles and boys' doubles at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games. The same year, Kidambi also won a bronze at the 2011 Asian Junior Championships in the mixed team event.
• Won the 2012 BWF International Challenge tournament at the Maldives
• In 2013, he won a gold medal at the "Thailand Open Grand Prix"
• Kidambi bagged a gold medal in the 2014 China Open
• Winner of the 2015 India Open Super Series title
• Earned silver medals at the Syed Modi International Championships for 2014 and 2015 season
• Bagged a gold at the 2015 Swiss Open
• Runner-up at the 2015 Indonesian Masters
• Honoured with the "Arjuna Award" in 2015 
• Represented India at Rio Olympics in 2016 and thus became one of few badminton players to qualify for Olympics
• Won two gold medals in the men’s singles and men's team event at the South Asian Games in 2016
• Ranked as World No. 15 in 2016 being the highest ranked Badminton player from India 
• Won the gold at 2016 Syed Modi International tournament
• Bagged a silver in the 2017 Singapore Open
• He clinched gold medals in the 2017 Indonesia Open, Australian Open, Denmark Open and French Open tournaments
• At the Commonwealth Games of 2018, Kidambi won a gold and a silver medal in the mixed team and men's singles events, respectively.   
• Runner-up at the BWF World Tour in the 2019 India Open
• In 2019, he represented India at the South Asian Games and clinched the gold medal in the team event
• Clinched two bronze medals in the men's team event at Asia Team Championships in 2016 and 2020
