Ratchanok Intanon

Ratchanok Intanon, born on February 5, 1995, is a badminton player from Thailand. Intanon became the world champion in women's singles in 2013 and she is also the first Thai athlete to become no. 1 in Women’s Singles rankings.

Here are some of her career achievements:-

• Clinched gold medals at the BWF World Junior Championships in the years 2009, 2010 and 2011
• Earned a silver and a bronze medal in the women's team event at 2010 & 2018 Asian Games
• In the South Asian Games, Intanon won three gold medals in the women's team event in 2011, 2015 & 2019
• Won the gold medal in the women’s singles event at the 2013 BWF World Championships
• Bagged the gold medal in 2015 and a bronze medal in 2016 Asian Championships in the singles and team events respectively
• In the Uber Cup, Intanon won a silver and a bronze medal in the women's team events in 2018 and 2012
• Claimed a bronze medal in the women’s singles event at the 2019 BWF World Championships
