Sir Ranjitsinhji Vibhaji Jadeja

H.H. Jam Saheb Shri Sir RanjitsinhjiVibhaji popularly known as Ranji, was born on 10th September 1872 in Sadodar. He was the ruler of the Indian princely state of Nawanagar from 1907 to 1933. Ranji was a prolific Test cricketer of the English cricket team. He had also played first-class cricket for Cambridge University and county cricket for Sussex. He also represented India in the League of Nations.

 Accomplishments:-

• He was chosen as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year 1897 for his previous year performance.
• Held the sporting position of Sussex County Cricket captain from 1899 to 1903.
• Ranji trophy-the first class cricket tournament in India is named after him as an honor to his sport achievements.
