Navjot Singh Sidhu

Born on 20th October 1963, in Patiala (Punjab), Navjot Singh Sidhu is a former cricketer and a renowned commentator. As a cricketer, he has devoted 19 years to the sport prominently known for his ability to hit sixes. Some of his significant achievements as a cricketer have been listed below-

• Scored half-centuries in four matches of  World Cup 1987 against England
• Scored over 500 Test runs thrice (1993, 1994 and 1997) in his career span
• Scored a Test double century during India's tour of West Indies in 1997
• In 1994, he scored 884 ODI runs being the first Indian batsman to score more than five centuries in one day international
• Honoured as one of the five Indian Cricket Cricketers of the Year for 1989
• Won the Man of the Series award in the 1988 and 1995 Asia Cup and during the tour of Sri Lanka in 1994 where he scored 233 runs at an average of 77.66
• Elected as the Man of the Match thirteen times in the ODI matches held in between 1988 and 1996
