Stanley Michael Bailey Hailwood was born on 2nd April 1940. He was a prominent Grand Prix motorcycle road racer from Great Britain.
His Achievements:-
- Earned the prestigious George Medal in 1973 for rescuing Clay Regazzoni at the 1973 South African Grand Prix, held at Kyalami.
- Awarded the Segrave Trophy in 1979 as a way of recognizing his exploits in the Senior and Classic TTs.
- Named as Grand Prix "Legend" in the year 2000, by FIM (Federation of International Motorcycling).
- Inducted into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in the year 2000.
- Inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2001.
