Joseph Henri Maurice 'Rocket' Richard

Joseph Henri Maurice "Rocket" Richard, born on 4^th August 1921, was a professional ice hockey player from Canada. Maurice was the first player in the history of NHL who scored 50 goals in a season.

His Achievements:-

• Selected as a member of the NHL Second Team All-Star for Season 1943-44, 1950-54 and 1956-57.
• Won the Hart Trophy being entitled as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his NHL season 1946-47.
• Honored with the "Canadian Press Male Athlete of the Year" award in the years 1952, 1957 and 1958.
• Won the Lou Marsh Trophy being the "Canadian Athlete of the Year" in 1957.
• Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in the year 1961.
• Inducted into the Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1975.
