Marina Olegovna Chernova is a famous Acrobatic Gymnast, who was born on 7th March, 1996 in Russia. Marina is a World Champion, European champion and has received the title - Honored Master of Sports of Russia. She was involved in sports since four as a rhythmic gymnast. But she did not succeed in it and realized that it was not her sport. After developing interest in acrobatics she comprehended her natural strength in this sport. Apart from gymnastic she was also interested in cooking. Her idol was a Russian acrobat - Revaz Gurgenidze who has won multiple European and World Champion titles in mixed pair, first with Anna Katchalova, then Tatiana Okulova and in 2013 and 2014 with Marina Chernova.
2013
International Senior Debut in World Games in Cali, Colombia
2014
At the age of 18, with her partner Revaz Gurgenidze, Marina Chernova took part for the first time in the World Championship in acrobatic gymnastics in the French city of Levallois-Perret and was able to win a gold medal in the mixed doubles.
2015
Marina's new partner was Georgii Pataraia, with whom she went to the European Games in Baku. In the capital city of Azerbaijan, the couple was able to win three gold medals in different disciplines.
2016
She performed at the World Acrobatics Championship for the second time. Again, together with Georgii Pataraia, the Omsk athlete became the best in the world and won a gold medal in a pair at the world championship in China.
2017
Marina won a gold medal at the World Games in Krakow, Poland, paired with Georgii Pataraia. The World Games are international complex competitions that are not included in the program of Olympic Games.
2018
Marina with her partner Georgii Pataraia became the first gymnast to win three gold medals in mixed pair at the world championships when she claimed victory at the 2018 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium.
2019
In 2019 she retired from the sport and began working with Cirque du Soleil an entertainment company. In one of her interview she said: "I was not going to work in the circus, I thought that I would be a coach to prepare new stars in Omsk, her home city. But it so happened that I got a chance to go to Cirque du Soleil, which I have no regrets about."
