Malvika Bansod

Malvika Bansod is an Indian badminton player who has won multiple gold medals in national junior and senior competitions. Malvika took up badminton when she was eight years old and made her international debut in September 2019. She idolises two-time Olympics champion and five-time world champion Lin Dan of China. Malvika is currently ranked world no. 162 in singles by the BWF.

Here are some of her career major achievements

• Won the state championships titles in the Under-13 and Under-17 age groups.
• Represented India at the 2018 World Junior Championship in Canada.
• Emerged as the winner at the 2018 South Asian Regional Under-21 Championship, both in individual and team events. 
• Bagged the All India senior ranking tournament and the All India junior ranking tournament titles in 2019.
• Made her senior international debut with a title victory in the 2019 Maldives International Future Series Badminton Tournament where she upset Thet Htar Thuzar 21–13, 21–11.
• Defeated the Gayathri Gopichand to won the 2019 Annapurna Post International Series in Nepal.
• Clinched a bronze medal at the 2019 Bulgarian Junior International Championship.
• Bagged a bronze medal at the 2019 Bahrain International Series in October. 
• Honoured with a number of awards such as the Khelo India Talent Development Athlete award and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) Athlete award.
• Malvika beat Anupama Upadhyaya 17–21, 25–13, 21–10 to win the 2021 Uganda International title.
• Thrashed Rachael Darragh to won the 2021 Lithuanian International tournament title.
