Layne Collette Beachley

Layne Collette Beachley was born on 24^th May 1972. She is a former professional surfer from Manly, New South Wales. At present, she is one amongst the four vice presidents of the International Surfing Association.

Her Accomplishments:-

• The first woman to win seven world championships in surfing during the years 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2006
• Honored with the Australian Sports Medal in 2000 for her consecutive success at the world Surfing Championship of 1998 and 1999
• Received the Laureus World Alternative Sportsperson of the Year Award in 2004
• In the year 2005, Teen Choice chose her as the Extreme Female Athlete of the Year
• Inducted into the Surfer’s Hall of Fame in 2006 at the Huntington Beach, California
• Her name was inducted into the Australian Sports Hall of Fame in the year 2011
• Awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia in the year 2015
