László Papp was born on 25th March 1926. He was a Hungarian professional boxer from Budapest.
His Achievements:-
- Received gold medals in Middleweight and light middleweight categories at the 1949 and 1950 European Amateur Championships held in Oslo and Milan respectively
- Won gold medals at the 1984, 1952 and 1956 Summer Olympic Games in the middleweight and light middleweight, held in London, Helsinki, and Melbourne respectively
- Earned an award for 'Best amateur and professional boxer of all time' from 1989 WBC President, Jose Sulaiman
- Inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, in 2001
- Budapest’s Papp László Sportarena, a multipurpose building is named in his honor
