Kristin Allen is a popular Acrobatic Gymnast from USA. She is most renowned as an acrobatic gymnast, and circus performer. She was born on July 10, 1992 in Livermore, California, U.S. to Karen Sprague and Tim Allen. Kristin’s younger brother Kyle Allen studied at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C and became an actor. Allen gained interest in the sport after watching her elementary school best friend in 2001. That was the year when she fell in love with the sport and started practicing. Besides acrobatics she was also interested in art, biking, and kayaking, dancing, rock climbing and exploring new places.
Kristin began her athletic career at the age of 9, representing the United States in acrobatic gymnastics. Kristin and her partner “Michael Rodrigues” both were trained at the West Coast Training Center in Livermore, California. Soon Kristin and her acrobatics partner Michael Rodrigues became U.S. National Champions, World Champions and also became the first and only Americans to win World Games in this sport.
After retiring from the competitive sport in August 2010, Kristin performed over 900 shows for Cirque du Soleil, which is the world's largest theatrical production company. She then joined Olympians and world-medalists for the 40-city Kellogg's Tour of Champions, performing at some of America's biggest venues.
In 2011, Kristin Allen teamed up with sport administrator and gym owner Bob Meier to create the first and only national non-profit foundation for the sport of acrobatic gymnastics. She is also the founder and president of the Acrobatic Gymnastics Foundation (AGF) (iheartacro.org), which provides scholarships to athletes in financial need. She was also a chairwoman of the National Gymnastics Foundation.
“I wanted to give back to the sport that gave me so much. That’s how the Acrobatic Gymnastics Foundation was born.” – Kristin Allen
In 2014, Allen and her partner won a BBC production of Tumble, a reality show that paired celebrities with top performers for the live spectacle of a gymnastics competition. Then she went on to perform acrobatic stunts on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning production of Pippin. But her career path changed dramatically when she injured her back during the Pippin's performance.
Kristin still lives with chronic pain from her injury, but the pain didn’t stop her from living her life to the fullest. Kristin is currently based in Los Angeles, California. She has designed and taught high performance workshops for Lululemon, Red Bull’s elite BMX athletes, and the League of Legends professional gaming team - Cloud9. In 2016, Kristin was cast on the Stride Gum: Heaven Sand Project as skydiver. Luke Aikins' her personal flexibility trainer, helped her in landing safely as it was one of the most dangerous stunts ever performed on live television – it was a jump from 25,000 feet without a parachute.
In 2020, she graduated from the USC Marshall School of Business, one of the top business programs in the United States.
