Joan Mir Mayrata

Born on 1^st September 1997 in Palma de Mallorca, Joan Mir Mayrata is a Grand Prix motorcycle racer from Spain. He currently rides for Team Suzuki Ecstar. He got his first motorcycle Polini at the age of 6, and the following year, he got Honda QR.

Joan made his Grand Prix debut with Leopard Racing in 2015 at Phillip Island. He made his full-time Moto3 debut in 2016 with the same team, won his first Grand Prix in Austria and ultimately the title of Rookie of the Year. In 2018, he made his progression to Moto2 and finished the season with 4 podiums at 6^th position overall and again grab the title of Rookie of the Year.

Here are some of his major career achievements:

• Won the Bankia Cup 2011 in the XL160 category, held in Spain.
• In 2012, he became the champion of the MotoGP 125cc PreGP Cup.
• In 2013 and 2014, he got a chance to participate in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and finished the competition with 9^th position in 2013 and 2^nd position in 2014 with three victories and six podiums.
• At the 2017 Moto3 World Championship, he won the champion’s crown with 10 wins and 13 podium finishes from 18 races.
• Won the crown of 2020 MotoGP World Championship with Suzuki, becoming the first rider of Suzuki to win the championship since Kenny Roberts Jr. in 2000, second Mallorcan to secure the premier-class title after Jorge Lorenzo and the fourth Spanish rider overall.
