Jerry Lee Rice is a former American footballer born on October 13, 1962. He has played 20 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Predominantly associated with San Francisco 49ers, he is considered as one of the greatest NFL players.
His achievements:-
- As of 2016, Rice holds more than 100 NFL records which is the highest number of records registered by an NFL player (by a wide margin).
- In 2010, Rice was ranked No.1 in the Top 100 NFL’s Greatest Players list.
- Rice has played for the team San Francisco 49ers who became the champions in Super Bowl XXIII in 1989 (Miami), Super Bowl XXIV in 1990 (New Orleans) and Super Bowl XXIX in 1995 (Miami).
- Rice was awarded the "ESPY's Pro Football Player of the Decade" for the season 1990-2000.
- Rice was instrumental in aiding San Francisco 49ers’ 28-3 win against the Chicago Bears in the NFC title game that was held at Soldier Field, Chicago in the year 1989.
- He became the “NFL Player of the Year” in 1998 and “NFL Most Valuable Player of the Year" in 1987.
