Jason Jonathan Roy

Born on 21 July 1990, Jason Roy is an English cricketer of South African descent who plays in all formats for England, and also for Surrey County Cricket Club in domestic cricket. He was a part of the England Champions team that won the 2019 Cricket World Cup trophy and he was the one who delivered the perfect throw to effect Martin Guptill's run-out in the Super-over against New Zealand at the 2019 World Cup final to help England clinch the trophy. He is currently ranked 11th in ODI batting, and 13th in the T20I batting rankings according to the February 2020 ICC Player Rankings.

Some of his major career achievements:

• He is the first Surrey batsman to score a century (101 runs off 57 balls) in T20 cricket.
• Scored 677 runs with an average of 48.35 with 5 half-centuries at the 2014 Natwest T20 Blast
• In 2016, he along with Alex Hales, made a massive partnership of 256 runs against Sri Lanka, which is the highest partnership for England for any wicket in ODIs and also it was the highest successful run chase without losing a wicket in ODIs.
• In 2018, he scored 180 runs against Australia in an ODI where he and Joe Root had the highest ever 3rd wicket partnership for England, with 221 runs off 220 balls. It was the highest individual score for England in ODIs by him as well as the highest ODI score on the MCG ground.
• He was the one who ran out Martin Guptill in the super-over against New Zealand at the 2019 World Cup final.
