Sir John Arthur Brabham

Jack Brabham, born on April 2, 1926, in Sydney, Australia, was a legendary Formula One racing driver and team owner. He is the only driver to win the Formula One World Championship driving a car of his own construction, achieving this feat in 1966. Brabham won the championship three times in total, in 1959, 1960, and 1966. He was known for his exceptional driving skills and innovative engineering approaches. After retiring from racing, Brabham remained involved in motorsports, establishing his own racing team. His contributions to the sport continue to be celebrated, leaving a lasting legacy in Formula One history.

• Honoured as the Officer of the Order of the British Empire, in the year 1966
• Received the Australian of the Year award in the year 1966
• Appointed a Knight Bachelor in 1979
• His name was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in the year 1985 and elevated to Legend status in 2003
• Received the Australian Sports Medal in 2000
• Honoured with the prestigious Centenary Medal in the year 2001
• Inducted into the Australian Speedway Hall of Fame in 2011
• Named amongst Australia's National Living Treasure in the year 2012
