Isaac Makwala

Born on 29th September 1986 in Tutume, Isaac Makwala is a well-known sprinter from Botswana, specialised in 400 m.

His Achievements:

• Issac is the first man in the history of sports to run 200 m within 20 seconds and 400 m within 44 seconds. He set both of these records on 14th July 2017.
• Bagged a silver medal in 4x400 m relay race at the World Relay Championships of the year 2017, held in Nassau.
• Secured three gold and three silver medals through his supersonic performance at the African Championships, held in between 2008-2014.
• Clinched a gold medal in 4x400 m relay race at the All Africa Games of 2007, held in Algiers. He again proved his knack at the Games in 2015 by securing gold and silver medal in 400 m sprint and 4x400 m relay race, respectively.
