Born on 14th February 1947, in Hückeswagen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, Heidemarie Ecker-Rosendahl is a German former athlete who predominantly competed in Long Jump and Pentathlon events and has earned numerous accolades.
Won a silver medal in Pentathlon at the European Championship of 1966 that took place in Budapest
Clinched gold and a bronze medal in Pentathlon and Long Jump at the European Championship of 1971 that took place in Helsinki
Bagged two gold and one silver medal in long Jump, 4x100m relay and Pentathlon, respectively at the 1972 MunichOlympics
Has also set a world record in the long jump of 6.84m in 1972, which lasted for six years
Twice entitled as the Germany Sportswoman of the Year in1970 and 1972
