Garry Kasparov was born on April 13, 1963, in Baku, Azerbaijan. He ruled the world of Chess and was the world’s top-ranked player for 20 long years.
His Achievements:-
- Attained International fame as the youngest world chess champion in history in 1985 being 22 years old at the time
- Kasparov held the highest “Elo rating” in the world between 1986 and 2005
- Also achieved the highest FIDE rating ever in 1990, passing 2800 and broke Bobby Fischer's record
- Kasparov participated in Eight Chess Olympiads altogether and secured team gold medals in every one of them.
- "The Grandmaster" made his international team debut at the age of 16 and won five medals in 1980 and 1992
- The recipient of the Chess Oscar award for eleven times
