Fariha Zaman

Born to a middle-class family in Assam on 22nd March 1991, Fariha Zaman is an ace swimmer who has held the national record in the 50m backstroke event with a timing of 31:22 seconds.

Her achievements:-

• Gold medal for 50m Backstroke (31.7 sec) in 2006 South Asian Games, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
• Gold medal for 100m Backstroke (1.09.05 sec) in 2006 South Asian Games, Colombo, Sri Lanka
• Gold medal for 200m Backstroke (2.31.49 sec) in 2006 South Asian Games, Colombo, Sri Lanka
• Gold medal for 50m Backstroke (32.02 sec) in 2007 South Asian swimming championship (open), Islamabad, Pakistan
• Gold medal for 100m Breaststroke (1.10.95 sec) in 2007 South Asian swimming championship (open), Islamabad, Pakistan
• Silver medal for 50m butterfly (30.98 sec) in 2007 South Asian swimming championship (open), Islamabad, Pakistan
