Eoin Morgan

Born on 10th September 1986 in Dublin, Ireland; Eoin Joseph Gerard Morgan is an English cricketer who captains the national squad in limited overs-cricket. He is the first and amongst the two cricketers who have scored an ODI hundred for two nations (England & Ireland). Being a natural batsman, Eoin has the potential for the reverse sweep shots and is often entitled as the 'finisher'.

Major Achievements:-

• Morgan is the leading run-scorer of the U-19 World Cup history with 606 runs.
• Named as the captain of England's national squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He is the sole England Captain to score more than 4 ODI centuries till now.
• Set a record for the highest third-wicket partnership along with Alex Hales in the history of T20 World Cup during their match against the team of Sri Lanka in 2014.
• Surpassed the record of Ian Bell and became the All-time leading ODI run-scorer for England during the third match of England's ODI series against Australia in 2018 and also broke the record of Jos Buttler for the fastest 50 by an Englishman in ODI.
• In the 2019 World Cup match against Afghanistan, Eoin hit 17 sixes and surpassed the record of most number of sixes in an ODI inning, the previous being 16. 
• Under his captaincy, England won the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup for the first time in history.
• As of December 2019, he is England's all-time leading run-scorer and most capped player in ODIs.
• In 2020 New Year Honours, he was appointed as the Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to cricket.
