Emma Margaret Sampson

Born on 29 July 1985, Emma Sampson is a former Australian cricketer who is regarded as one of the fastest bowlers in women's cricket, bowling at a speed of around 118 kmph. She has played 30 ODIs, 5 T20Is and 1 Test match for Australian national women's cricket team and has also played 98 List A matches and 62 Women's National Cricket League matches for the South Australian Scorpions. Emma announced her retirement from cricket after the 2009 World Cup.

Some of her major career achievements:

• She took 5 wickets for 30 runs against New Zealand in 2008. This was her career's best performance ever.
• Became the Player of the Series for Australia's series squeak over New Zealand in 2008.
• She is the 154th woman to play Test cricket, and the 108th woman to play ODI cricket for Australia.
