Don Mattingly

Born on 20 April 1961, Don Mattingly is a professional baseball first baseman, current manager and coach of the Miami Marlins from the United States. He is nicknamed as “Donnie Baseball” and “The Hit Man.” He has played with New York Yankees for 14 years (almost his entire career) and later became the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers for five years.

His Achievements:-

• Inducted into the American League (AL) All-Star Team six times.
• Earned nine Rawlings Gold Glove Awards in the years 1986-1989 and 1991-1994, three Silver Slugger Awards in the years 1985-1987 and the 1984 “AL Batting” title.
• Bagged the Major League Baseball “Most Valuable Player Award” in 1985.
