Chaminda Vaas

Born on 27th January 1974, Warnakulasuriya Patabendige Ushantha Joseph Chaminda Vaas is a former professional cricketer from Sri Lanka who is regarded as one of the leading wicket-takers of the team.

• Chaminda Vaas is the youngest pace bowler to take 300 wickets in ODI
• He is one of the four players to take ODI hat-trick twice in his career
• Chaminda Vaas holds the record of best bowling figures in ODI, 8/19 vs. Zimbabwe in 2001
• The second highest wicket-taker with 300 wickets for Sri- Lanka, which is next to Muttiah Muralitharan
• The first bowler who took a hat-trick on first three balls in a World Cup match of 2003
• One of the two players who took two five-wicket hauls at McLean Park
