Brendon McCullum

Born on 27 September 1981, in Dunedin, New Zealand, Brendon Barrie McCullum is a former New Zealand international cricketer. He captained the New Zealand cricket team in all three formats at the international level. Presently, he is donning as the coach of the New Zealand cricket team. 

Achievements:-

• Chosen as the part of ICC (International Cricket Council) World XI squad to play the ICC Super Series in the year 2005.
• Honoured as the “Man of the Series” in the ODI against Pakistan that took place in UAE in the season 2009-2010.
• Scored international Twenty-20 century at the AMI Stadium, Christchurch against Australia in the year 2010.
• Awarded the "Player of the Series" in the International Twenty20 against India that took place in India in the year 2012.
• Another International Twenty20 century at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele against Bangladesh in the year 2012.
• He is the first New Zealand Cricketer to score triple hundred in Tests i.e., 302 runs against India in February 2014 that happened in Wellington, New Zealand.
• Became the first New Zealander to score 1000 Test runs in a calendar year after scoring 1164 runs in 2014.
• Chosen the New Zealand "Sportsman of the Year" in 2014.
• Honoured with the “Sports New Zealand Leadership" Award in the year 2016.
• In his farewell Test match against Australia in 2016, he scored the fastest ever Test century (in 54 balls), at Christchurch’s Hagley Park, New Zealand.
• Selected as the Icon Player for Kandahar's team in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League in September 2018.
• In 2019, he was selected in the Glasgow Giants squad for the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam cricket in July. Although, he took retirement from all forms of cricket in August 2019.
