Popularly known as “Tomba la Bomba” (Tomba the Bomb), Alberto Tomba is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from Italy who was born on 19th December 1966.
His Achievements:-
- He secured bronze in the Giant Slalom at the World Championship of 1987 which was held in Switzerland.
- He secured gold medals in men's Slalom as well as Giant Slalom at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.
- He also won gold medal in Giant Slalom and silver medal in Slalom in the 1992 Winter Olympics, held in Albertville
- He earned a silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics held in Lillehammer
- He won gold medals at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships of 1996 in Giant Slalom and Slalom which were held at Sierra Nevada.
