Abraham Benjamin de Villiers

Abraham Benjamin de Villiers is one of the greatest batsmen of all times who plays for South Africa nicknamed “Mr. 360” because of his all-round performance in cricket. AB has gained huge accolades both in-house and internationally in his 15-years international careers. Reshuffling the record digits, winning hearts along recognitions is the precise summary of AB de Villiers’ cricketing career. He held the ICC ODI Player of the year title trice and is decades’ one of the five Wisden cricketers. The player retired in 2018 from all forms of international cricket. Reportedly, he was about to make a comeback in 2020 T20 World Cup, but the same got cancelled due to the pandemic. Besides this, he also has a successful history in other sports such as Golf, Tennis, and Rugby. AB is also a proficient guitarist as well as a singer.

• The fastest batsman in the history of ODI events to score a total of 9,577  runs (as of 16 Feb 2021) and also for playing the most number of test Innings (78) without a duck.
• Registered a record of scoring the fastest century in 36 balls and the fastest half-century in 16 balls against West Indies in 2015.
• Honoured as "Player of the Series" four times for Test cricket against Sri Lanka, Pakistan (2), and India between 2011-14.
• Amongst the South African Batsmen who have scored a century in the World Cup, his strike rate is the highest (136.73).
• In 2008, ​AB de Villiers became the first South African to score a double century (217) against India.
• During the World Cup match against West Indies In 2015, He scored 162 runs in 66 balls that led South Africa to secure the second-highest total (408) in the History of World Cup.
• At the end of the 2015 World Cup, he was ranked No 1 in ICC batsmen ratings in ODI cricket and No 3 in ICC batsmen ratings in Test cricket.
• De Villiers was named in the "Team of the Tournament" for the 2015 World Cup by the ICC.
• On 21 February 2016, de Villiers scored the fastest T20I half-century (by a South African) in just 21 balls.
• De Villiers has scored 22 Test and 25 ODI centuries.
