Herbert Nitsch, born on April 20, 1970, is a freediver from Austria. He is the current world record champion in freediving and considered as “the deepest man on earth”. He has made world records in all the eight disciplines of freediving which are recognized by AIDA International.

- He has set a world record of reaching the depth of 253.2 meters (831 feet) in the “No Limits” discipline
- He has a total of 69 official world records and also one world record in the “Skandalopetra” which is a traditional Greek discipline of diving
