Ericsson Globe is the world’s most significant hemispherical building, inaugurated in 1989, one of Stockholm’s most famous buildings, took two and a half years to construct. Formed like a large white ball, it contains a diameter of 110 meters and an inner height of 85 meters with a volume of 605,000 cubic meters. It is a covered multi-stadium with capacity for 13,850 individuals at sporting competitions and 16,000 at concerts or shows. It is a symbol that represents both Stockholm and Sweden and is a field that has facilitated nearly all significant events during the past decades. The Ericsson Globe serves as Sweden’s national hockey arena but moreover has an assortment of other occasions and concerts and through the years some of the world’s greatest artists have graced its fundamental stage: the Rolling Stones, Metallica, Beyoncé, Madonna and U2 to name some. The vista from the Skyview, a gondola running along the exterior of the structure’s curved wall, offers a fabulous view of southern Stockholm.
