The Loftus Versfeld Stadium is a soccer and rugby stadium, located in the Arcadia suburb of Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. The construction work commenced in 1906 and took 17 years to complete. The stadium was opened to the spectators in the year 1923. It underwent renovation in the year 1977 and was expanded in the year 2008. It is the home of Blue Bulls of the Currie Cup, the Bulls of Super Rugby and Mamelodi Sundowns of the PSL. Loftus Versfeld Stadium is owned by the Blue Bulls Rugby Union.

The Loftus Versfeld Stadium has been named after the founder of organized sports in Pretoria, Robert Loftus Owen Versfeld.

Significance

After Minolta had become the sponsors of the stadium’s name, the Loftus Versfeld Stadium was named "Minolta Loftus" by which it was known from 1998 to 2003. In 2003, Security giant "Securicor" (one of the largest security business in UK) took over the naming rights and the stadium was called "Securicor Loftus" until 2005.
The stadium played host to three Pool D matches, a quarter final match and a third place play-off of the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
The Gerrie Coetzee vs. John Tate boxing match for the WBA World Heavyweight title was held at this stadium on 20th October 1979.
The Loftus Versfeld Stadium was the venue that hosted three Group B matches of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup that held on 15th, 18th, and 21st June. The following year, it hosted important matches of FIFA World Cup.
Canadian singer Celine Dion performed at the stadium on 16th and 17th February 2008, as a part of her "Taking Chances Tour".
