NBA Awards

The annual NBA award is bestowed to the top rookie of the regular season. The receiver is conferred with the Eddie Gottlieb Trophy, named after the former Philadelphia Warriors head coach.

The NBA MVP is an annual NBA award granted since the 1955-56 NBA season to the best performing player of the regular season. The winner of this award receives the Maurice Podoloff Trophy, which is named in honor of the first NBA Commissioner who served his office from 1946 till his retirement in 1963.

It is an annual NBA award given since the 1962-63 season. The winner of this award receives theRed Aeurbach trophy, which is named in honor of the head coach who led the Boston Celtics to nine NBA Championships from 1956 to1966.

It is an annual NBA award given since the 1969 NBA Finals. The award is determined by the panel of nine media members, who cast votes after the finals. The individual with the highest no. of votes wins the trophy.

Officially recognized by the NBA in 2009, it is an annual award given to the league's best manager who is selected through voting which is conducted by the executives from the league's 30 teams since the 1972-73 NBA season.

Named in the memory of James Walter Kennedy the second commissioner (then president) of the NBA is an annual NBA award presented to the player, coach or the staff member who shows excellent service and devotion to the community. The award is given by the Pro Basketball Writers Association (PBWA).

It is an annual NBA award bestowed upon a player who symbolizes the ideals of sportsmanship with his “kind behaviour, fair play and honesty”.

It is an award given to the league's "iconic teammate" who sets an example for others of selfless play, devotion, and commitment towards his team. The award is named in the honour of Jack Twyman and Maurice Stokes who played together on the  Rochester/Cincinnati Royals from 1955 to 1958 until Stroke's career had a pause as he fell down during the game against the Minneapolis Lakers and suffered a head injury. Strokes later became paralyzed because of post-traumatic encephalopathy (a brain injury that damages the motor-control centre). Twyman then helped Strokes as he became his legal supervisor and lawyer until Strokes' demise in 1970.

Instituted in 1953, MPV is an annual NBA award presented to the player(s) selected best of the yearly All-Star Game.
