The Federation of international polo, often abbreviated as the FIP, is the world governing body for the sport of polo. It was founded by Marcos Uranga, on November 25, 1982, in Buenos Aires, Argentina by representatives of the national polo associations of eleven countries.
Multiple sports association, including The IOC and SportAccord, officially recognise it. The principal aim of the FIP is to enhance the image and status of the great game of polo internationally.
